Lincoln-Way Central Offensive Clinic Powers 15-7 Win Over Stagg

Spread the love

The Lincoln-Way Central varsity softball team put on an impressive offensive display on Wednesday, racking up 17 hits in a 15-7 victory over Stagg in conference play.

Lincoln-Way Central wasted no time establishing dominance, scoring four runs in the first inning and adding to their lead in every subsequent frame until a massive six-run explosion in the fifth sealed the outcome.

While Stagg briefly rallied to make things interesting with a five-run third inning, the Knights’ lineup proved too deep and too consistent. Bridget Barz (3-for-3, 3 RBIs) and Audrey Hennings (3-for-5, RBI) led the charge, with the entire team contributing to a high-scoring afternoon.

On the defensive side, the Knights stayed composed, committing only one error and effectively navigating the mid-game surge from the Stagg bats. Madelyn Lanigan led the pitching effort, recording five strikeouts and settling in after the third-inning disruption to keep the Stagg offense at bay for the remainder of the contest.
