(The Center Square) – The Democrat National Convention’s committee on site selection visited Chicago this week, again considered the city for their 2028 or 2032 convention.

As highlighted by Gov. J.B. Pritzker, the 2024 DNC generated $371 million for Chicago’s economy. The committee is also considering other major cities for their 2028 event, including Atlanta, Boston, Denver and Philadelphia.

DUCKWORTH IN FAVOR OF YEAR-ROUND E15 SALES

After the House of Representatives voted to pass a bill which would allow for the year-round sale of gasoline blended with 15% ethanol, or E-15, U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth said she supports the measure.

In a statement, Duckworth said the bill will critically help American farmers and keep costs for consumers down at the pump.

The senator also criticized Republican leadership for removing a similar measure last minute from a broader package of legislation known as the “Farm Bill” earlier this month.

IDPH WARNS OF LISTERIA OUTBREAK LINKED TO DELI MEAT

The Illinois Department of Health is urging consumers to be cautious about buying some lunch meats, after reporting a Listeria outbreak.

The warning is tied to some lots of Daisy brand headcheese deli meat bought at multiple deli locations in Illinois and Indiana.

Tests are still ongoing to determine the scale of the outbreak. More information on the product and its recall can be found online from IDPH and the USDA.
