New Lenox Village Board of Trustees Meeting | April 13, 2026

The New Lenox Village Board of Trustees managed a heavy docket of infrastructure and financial legislation during its regular meeting on Monday, April 13, 2026. Highlighting the agenda was the passage of the $94 million Fiscal Year 2026-2027 budget, alongside multi-million dollar approvals for the Crossroads Sports Complex fieldhouse design and Spencer Meadows subdivision guarantees. The Board also processed multiple utility upgrades, including emergency municipal repairs and customized water main extensions for arriving commercial businesses. Trustee Amy Gugliuzza was absent from the meeting.

National Library Week Proclamation: Mayor Tim Baldermann and the Board proclaimed April 19 through April 25 as National Library Week in New Lenox. The Mayor praised the New Lenox Public Library’s massive community impact, noting that in 2025, the facility saw 139,062 in-person visits and facilitated the checkout of 263,755 physical and digital items. Library staff were present to accept the proclamation, celebrating this year’s theme: “Find Your Joy.”

Pete’s Fresh Market Water Main: The Board approved a $105,800 construction contract with local firm JS Alberico to extend a water main for the incoming Pete’s Fresh Market. Operations Director Brian Williams explained that changes to the building’s final footprint required the Village to loop the water system around the west side of the structure. The Board waived formal bidding to expedite the work, allowing the grocery retailer to complete its site preparation without delay.

Emergency Vehicle Preemption Device Repair: Trustees unanimously approved a $27,537.38 construction contract with Meade Electric to repair Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) devices throughout the Village. The critical sensors, which turn traffic lights green for approaching police and fire vehicles, were found to be malfunctioning at approximately 15 to 20 intersections located primarily on IDOT rights-of-way.

Economic Development Software: The Board approved a $4,000 contract for Resimplifi, a specialized real estate software utilized by the Village’s economic development team. Community Development Director Robin Ellis noted the software tracks available commercial and industrial properties and automatically uploads local listings to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, drastically increasing regional exposure for New Lenox sites.

AT&T Cell Tower Lease Renegotiation: The Board approved a First Amendment to an Option and Lease Agreement with New Cingular Wireless/AT&T. Public Works Director Mark Brow reported that AT&T initially approached the Village seeking to lower its monthly rent before the contract expires in 2030. The Village successfully negotiated to maintain the current monthly rent, offering only a two-year freeze on annual increases from 2030 to 2032, after which 3% annual increases will resume.

Crossroads Outlots Engineering: A $23,750 amendment to a proposal with SpaceCo for engineering services was approved for the Crossroads Sports Complex outlots. The firm will clean up shifting lot lines and legal descriptions between the hotel parcel and the 12-acre parcel under contract with Pulse Properties, as well as provide topographical services to officially remove portions of the site from a designated floodplain.

Financial Disbursements: The Board unanimously approved the Village’s bi-monthly financial disbursements totaling $6,964,500.87. Trustees also formally approved a municipal payroll in the amount of $529,833.12, which was paid to Village employees on April 2, 2026.
