Lincoln-Way East Powers Past Knights in Conference Clash
The Lincoln-Way Central varsity softball team struggled to contain a high-powered Lincoln-Way East offense on Thursday, falling 15-1 in a conference matchup at home.
Lincoln-Way East jumped out to an early lead, scoring in each of the first three innings to establish a 5-1 advantage. The game remained competitive through the early stages, with the Knights finding their lone run in the second inning to narrow the gap. However, the visitors broke the game wide open in the fourth inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues and a series of base hits to plate 10 runs, effectively putting the game out of reach.
Despite the loss, the Knights managed five hits against the Lincoln-Way East pitching staff.
Lincoln-Way Central, now 5-24 on the season, looks to regroup as they continue their conference schedule. Lincoln-Way East moves to 21-6 with the victory, maintaining their strong standing in the league.
