The Lincoln-Way East Griffins showcased their formidable depth Tuesday afternoon, securing a first-place finish at the boys SouthWest Suburban Conference (SWSC) triangular meet hosted by Lincoln-Way West. The Griffins compiled 89.5 team points to fend off the host Warriors, who finished a strong second with 72.5 points. Palos Hills Stagg rounded out the scoring with 12 points.

Lincoln-Way East built its victory on dominance in the relays and field events. The Griffins swept three of the four baton exchanges, claiming the 4×200 (1:36.61), 4×400 (3:49.12), and 4×800 (9:13.53) relays. Out in the field, junior Jimeto Okafor launched a winning shot put throw of 14.91 meters, while senior Edwin Tate secured the long jump title with a personal-best leap of 6.64 meters. Senior Chauncey Robinson added to the jumps tally, winning the triple jump with a 12.81-meter mark, and senior Nick Gartlemann cleared 1.77 meters to take the high jump.

Despite the team loss, host Lincoln-Way West delivered several spectacular individual performances on the track. Senior Anthony Lusciatti was a dual-winner, sweeping the 200-meter dash in 23.06 seconds and the 400-meter dash in an impressive 49.47. Junior Hunter Spee dominated the 800-meter run with a blistering time of 1:56.43, and sophomore Braydon McNulty captured the 100-meter sprint in a personal-best 11.14 seconds. The Warriors also claimed the 4×100 relay (42.60) and saw field event victories from sophomore Broden Newman in the discus (45.57m) and senior Jack Drozdek in the pole vault (4.19m).

Palos Hills Stagg found its moment of triumph in the 110-meter hurdles, where senior Jack Senodenos broke the tape first in a tight 18.20-second finish.

In the distance events, Lincoln-Way East’s Noah Borchert controlled the 1600 meters. The senior crossed the finish line in a personal-best 4:48.61 to hold off freshman teammate Owen Burns (4:53.66). Junior Christian Shelton added a final track victory for the Griffins in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking a 44.76 to claim the top spot.
