New Lenox Village Board of Trustees Meeting | March 23, 2026

The New Lenox Village Board of Trustees advanced significant legislative and financial items during its regular meeting on Monday, March 23, 2026. The meeting was heavily focused on pushing back against state-level zoning mandates, securing IEPA funding for critical water infrastructure replacements, and establishing over $1.2 million in developer sureties for the Spencer Meadows subdivision. The Board also utilized its consent agenda to process routine operational needs, including vehicle disposals, special event liquor licensing, and the leasing of temporary municipal facilities.

Mobile Office Trailers and Weather Unit: The Board approved a lease agreement with WillScot to provide mobile office trailers for the Village Commons. Additionally, the Board approved a proposal to purchase a Perry Weather Unit and subscription service for the Village Commons, upgrading the area’s localized weather monitoring and alert capabilities for outdoor events.

Police and ESDA Vehicle Disposals: The Board passed Ordinance #3246 and Ordinance #3247, officially authorizing the disposal of surplus municipal property. The ordinances permit the Village to offload an outdated Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA) vehicle, as well as a surplus all-terrain vehicle (ATV) previously utilized by the New Lenox Police Department.

2026 Commons Events Liquor License: The Board unanimously passed Ordinance #3248, which officially creates a Class TE (Temporary Event) Liquor License. The license is specifically designated to cover the slate of 2026 summer concerts and community events hosted by the Village of New Lenox at the Village Commons.

Financial Disbursements: The Board unanimously approved the Village’s bi-monthly financial disbursements totaling $903,130.88. Trustees also formally approved a municipal payroll in the amount of $511,877.43, which was paid to Village employees on March 20, 2026.

April Proclamations: Using the consent agenda, Mayor Tim Baldermann and the Board of Trustees issued two official health and wellness proclamations. The Board designated April 2026 as Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month, as well as National Donate Life Month, encouraging residents to consider organ and tissue donation.
