Providence Catholic Sweeps Men’s and Women’s Titles at Celtic Quad Meet

NEW LENOX, Ill. — The Providence Catholic Celtics showcased their depth and dominance on their home track Monday afternoon, sweeping both the men’s and women’s varsity team titles at the Celtic Quad Meet on March 30, 2026.

The Providence Catholic men’s team racked up 99 points to comfortably outpace Oak Forest (66) and Lombard Montini (9). The women’s squad was equally impressive, finishing with 97 points to defeat Montini (21). Oak Forest did not field a scoring women’s team at the event.

On the men’s side, Providence was propelled by several standout multi-event winners. Junior Bryce Vlasak was the undisputed king of the short sprints, taking first in both the 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 11.33 and the 200-meter dash in 22.82. Vlasak also anchored the victorious 4×100 relay team, teaming up with Broden Mackert, DeAngelo Coates, and Isaac Patton to clock a 43.74.

Sophomore Jayden Richter had a massive day in the jump pits for the Celtics. Richter claimed the long jump title with a personal-best leap of 6.14 meters and completed the sweep in the triple jump, hitting a mark of 12.43 meters. In the hurdles, Providence continued to assert its control as junior CJ Hill won the 110-meter hurdles (18.00) and junior John Fife secured the 300-meter hurdles (48.00). In the throwing events, Providence saw personal-best victories from sophomore Ben Coleman in the shot put (14.88m) and sophomore Jon Osborne in the discus (39.50m).

Oak Forest kept the men’s competition competitive behind exceptional performances in the middle-distance and relay events. Junior Hudson Neth captured the 800-meter title with a personal-best 2:01.83, while senior Nicholas Manso cruised to a win in the 1600-meter race, crossing the line in 4:37.24. The Bengals also shined in the longer relays, winning the 4×200 in 1:32.25 and the 4×400 in 3:36.40, anchored by senior Collin Gentile in both events.

In the women’s competition, the Celtics’ dominance was absolute. Sophomore Nina Herron mirrored Vlasak’s achievements by sweeping the short sprints, winning the 100 meters (12.86) and the 200 meters (26.42), both personal bests. She also anchored the winning 4×100 relay team. Freshman Elayna Marketti proved to be a rising star in the hurdles, taking first in both the 100-meter hurdles (21.34) and the 300-meter hurdles (1:01.28).

Senior Sydney Earing matched Richter’s field performance by sweeping the horizontal jumps for Providence’s women’s team, recording a 4.71-meter personal best in the long jump and a 9.72-meter leap in the triple jump.

Lombard Montini found its brightest spots in the field and distance events. Senior Karissa Jones swept the women’s throwing competitions, winning the shot put with a 9.93-meter toss and the discus with a personal-best 24.62-meter throw. Senior Ashlynn Lindt also earned a first-place finish for the Broncos, winning the 800 meters in 2:27.06.
