New Lenox Community Park District Board of Commissioners Meeting | January 21, 2026

The New Lenox Community Park District Board of Commissioners managed a highly active agenda regarding municipal finances and facility management during its regular meeting on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Highlighting the session was the approval of a $698,256 bond issuance at a 3.1% interest rate and the announcement of a Moody’s credit rating upgrade. The Board also celebrated a 12.7% surge in recreation programming registrations while outlining a comprehensive ADA Transition Plan designed to audit all 45 of the district’s park sites.

TRIA Architecture Agreement: The Board unanimously passed Resolution #26-01, officially executing an agreement with TRIA Architecture. The resolution explicitly relates to the Current Wastewater Treatment Plant. The motion was made by Commissioner Fischer, seconded by Commissioner Ott, and passed via roll call vote.

Loomis Armored US Agreement: The Board passed Resolution #26-02, executing a formal agreement with Loomis Armored US, LLC. The resolution was passed unanimously on a roll call vote following a motion by Commissioner Ott and a second by Commissioner Larson.

Portable Services Contract Awarded: Following a bid process initiated on January 14, 2026, the Board approved a contract for the district’s Portable Services. The contract was awarded to Service Sanitation, Inc., the lowest qualified bidder, at an estimated monthly cost not to exceed $4,730.00.

Bullstangs National Championship Honored: Following a unanimous vote to amend the agenda, the Board passed Resolution #26-03, officially honoring the Bullstangs Varsity National Championship Team. Recreation Supervisor Amy Maher read the resolution aloud to the public, offering congratulations to the players and coaches. President Schulz lauded the team, calling their championship a “great accomplishment.”

Sanctuary Golf Course Update: Commissioner Larson reported that cold weather in December hurt golf sales at the district’s course, but noted that gift card sales increased over the previous year. Additionally, the driving range exceeded previous year sales by $169,000. Food and Beverage revenues were down slightly due to the winter months, but gaming had a decent month. The clubhouse is scheduled to receive fresh paint prior to the upcoming Penguin Open on January 31, 2026, where golfers are asked to bring nonperishable food items for the New Lenox Food Pantry.

Community Events: Commissioner Fischer reminded the community about the upcoming Lion’s Club Blood Drive, scheduled for February 13 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the All-Purpose Room at 701 W. Haven Avenue. President Schulz also announced that the New Lenox Chamber Annual Dinner will be held on February 26, 2026, at the American Legion Post 1977.
