The New Lenox Public Library District Board of Trustees on Monday, January 19, 2026, authorized the final administrative steps necessary to launch a comprehensive, organization-wide staff compensation study.

Executive Director Michelle Krooswyk reported that library administrators have spent recent weeks compiling and adjusting all internal job descriptions. The goal of the administrative overhaul was to create consistency in the language used across different departments and to ensure that the listed duties and requirements were correct and completely up to date.

As part of this process, the Board of Trustees was required to review and approve the updated job description specifically for the Executive Director role. The Board approved the Executive Director Job Description Update unanimously as part of its consent agenda.

With the final job description approved, Krooswyk stated that all positions within the library will now be submitted to HR Source, an external human resources consulting firm, to conduct the full compensation study.

The data and recommendations provided by HR Source will be utilized to establish updated salary and wage ranges for library staff. Krooswyk noted that these newly established compensation ranges will be formally applied to the upcoming Fiscal Year 2027 municipal budget.
