During her Executive Director’s Report, Michelle Krooswyk informed the Board that December 2026 will mark the library’s 25th anniversary of operating out of its current building on the New Lenox Village Commons.
To commemorate the quarter-century mark, Krooswyk stated that the library’s Marketing and Administration teams are currently looking into the logistics and processes of a comprehensive rebranding campaign. Krooswyk indicated that more details regarding the scope and timeline of the rebranding effort will be presented to the Board in the coming months.
The initiative generated immediate engagement from the Board. During the meeting’s closing comments, Trustee Wheat specifically expressed interest in the library’s potential rebranding and the steps moving forward.
In addition to the rebranding, Marketing Coordinator Nicole Wright reported that the library is in the preliminary stages of planning for National Library Week. Wright also noted that through a partnership with the Will County Center for Economic Development, the library’s marketing department will be hosting a summer intern.
