The Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 Board of Education approved the 2026-2027 school calendar during its meeting on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Superintendent Dr. R. Scott Tingley highlighted that the district will maintain a traditional day off for the general election on November 3, despite the state potentially allowing for a remote learning day.

“I wouldn’t do a remote day just for the heck of it,” Tingley said. “We’ll continue to take the day off at least for 26-27.”

The calendar features two teacher institute days to start the year. Tingley noted this schedule is particularly helpful given the amount of construction planned for the summer, allowing extra time to get buildings ready for students.

“Believe it or not, an extra day does matter if you’re putting things back together,” Tingley said.

The first semester will end on December 18, 2026, ensuring students complete finals before winter break. The school year is scheduled to conclude on May 27, 2027, provided no emergency days are used.
