New Lenox Fire Protection District Meeting | October 2025

The New Lenox Fire Protection District Board of Trustees on Monday, October 27, 2025, held a swearing-in ceremony promoting two firefighters to Lieutenant and officially welcoming two others off probation. The board’s main business involved postponing the award of construction bids for the Station 2 project and setting a special meeting on November 12 to review the proposals. IO Solutions Chosen for Future Firefighter Testing:
The Fire Commissioners have selected IO Solutions as the new company for firefighter testing. Fire Commissioner Marty Terlep reported that the commission met on October 3 to discuss the testing process, preference points, and proposals from two companies, ultimately choosing IO Solutions over the National Testing Network.

Paramedic Service Contract Under Review:
Chief Adam Riegel and Trustee Levey are scheduled to meet with Metro Paramedic Services on November 4 to discuss the district’s contract. The results of that discussion are expected to be brought back to the full board at its next regular meeting on November 17.

September Financial Report Approved:
The board unanimously approved the Treasurer’s Report for the period ending September 30, 2025. The report showed a beginning cash balance of approximately $9.2 million and an ending balance of over $12.1 million. After accounting for October payroll and accounts payable, the district’s cash on deposit as of October 27 stood at $11,243,555.

Minutes and Bills Approved:
The board unanimously approved the minutes from its September 22, 2025 meeting. A motion by Trustee Fischer, seconded by Trustee Scanlan, to approve the treasurer’s report and pay the outstanding bills for the month also passed unanimously.
