The Lincoln-Way Special Recreation Association (LWSRA) is celebrating a season of remarkable achievements, including a national title run for its adult wheelchair softball team, officials reported at the New Lenox Park District meeting on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Commissioner Fischer proudly congratulated the LWSRA team for placing second in the national championship tournament held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Building on that success, Executive Director Greg Lewis announced that the agency is expanding its services. A second sensory bus is being added to its fleet and is currently being outfitted. Lewis noted the buses are in “high demand,” prompting the need for an additional vehicle.

In addition to expanding services, LWSRA is also growing its team, having recently hired a new marketing supervisor and two other supervisors who started as interns.
