Village of New Lenox Board of Trustees Meeting | September 22, 2025
The New Lenox Village Board, meeting on September 22, 2025, with Trustee Keith Madsen presiding in the mayor’s absence, took several key steps to manage intergovernmental relations and village development. The board’s most significant action was the approval of a new 20-year boundary agreement with the Village of Homer Glen. A full article on this long-term pact is available.
In other business, the board took a firm stance with a developer by demanding payment of a $422,000 letter of credit for unfinished work in a subdivision. The trustees also continued to foster competition for internet services by approving an agreement with a new fiber provider, Pavlov Media, and approved a major landscaping project for the Crossroads Sports Complex roundabout. Marketing and Website Hosting for Sports Complex:
The village approved two agreements to promote the Crossroads Sports Complex. The first is a two-year, no-cost marketing deal with Team63 Solutions to list the complex on the Sports Illustrated-affiliated “Catch Corner” app. The second is a $1,500 annual agreement with SF Website Services, LLC to host and provide essential services for the complex’s website.
Engineering Services for Crossroads Outlots Approved:
An engineering services proposal from Spaceco Civil Engineering and Surveying was approved for work related to the commercial outlots at the Crossroads Sports Complex. The tasks, estimated to cost $36,000, include designing a sanitary sewer relocation, coordinating a new right-in/right-out access point on Cedar Crossings Drive, and assisting with a dam permit extension.
Village to Donate Surplus Cell Phones:
The board passed a resolution declaring an unspecified number of currently owned village cell phones as surplus property. The resolution also authorizes the donation of these surplus devices. The item was passed without discussion as part of the consent agenda.
Raffle License Approved for Friends of the Library:
The Friends of the New Lenox Library were granted a raffle license for 2025. The approval allows the non-profit organization, which supports the New Lenox Public Library, to conduct raffles as part of its fundraising activities throughout the year.
