The New Lenox Village Board on Monday, September 22, 2025, approved a comprehensive landscaping plan valued at $95,284 to beautify the roundabout at the entrance of the Crossroads Sports Complex.
Village Administrator Kurt Carroll presented the proposal from Beary Landscaping, which will transform the center of the Cedar Crossing roundabout into an impressive entryway. The design features trees, decorative rock, an irrigation system, and statues of ballplayers similar to those seen in downtown Tinley Park. A second part of the proposal covers the installation of annual flowers in the spring of 2026.
“It’ll be impressive as you drive into the complex to see that,” said Trustee Keith Madsen, who was acting as mayor pro tem.
Carroll explained that the cost was already incorporated into the overall project budget. “The cost of this has already been incorporated… It’s within the budgeted amount that we had for the site,” he stated.
During a brief discussion, Trustee Madsen asked if the trees would affect sight lines for drivers, to which Carroll replied they would not. Trustee Amy Gugliuzza inquired about lighting, and Carroll confirmed there will be lighting on the sign. The motion to approve the proposal passed unanimously.
