Village of New Lenox Board of Trustees Meeting | September 2025

The New Lenox Village Board on September 8, 2025, approved a crucial extension for the sale of village-owned property on Maple Street, the future site of The Patio restaurant, to allow the developer time to address engineering issues. The board unanimously agreed to push the closing date to November 30. More details on this development are available in a full article.

In other business, the board approved a significant purchase of new kitchen equipment for the Crossroads Sports Complex to expand its menu and hours. A separate story covers this investment. The board also finalized a new sponsorship deal for the sports complex and handled routine surety releases for completed road projects.

Crossroads Sports Complex Adds Beverage Sponsor:
The village board approved a three-year, $15,000 sponsorship agreement with Breakthru Beverage for the Crossroads Sports Complex. In exchange for the financial support, the beverage distributor will receive a digital marketing package and opportunities for on-site brand activations at the facility. This is the latest in a series of successful sponsorship deals for the new complex.

Surety Reductions and Releases Approved:
The board approved a surety reduction for completed improvements on Spencer Road west of Gougar Road. A full surety release was also approved for the Ashton Estates subdivision, where work on Spencer Road improvements has been finalized. These actions were passed as part of the consent agenda and are a routine step as developers complete public infrastructure work.

Village Purchases New Garage Door Transmitters:
A purchase of six programmable garage door transmitters for the Crossroads Sports Complex was approved by the board. The transmitters, which cost a total of $998, will be purchased from United Door & Dock for use on the overhead maintenance garage doors at the new facility.

No Council of the Whole Meeting in September:
Mayor Tim Baldermann announced that there will not be a Council of the Whole meeting in September. These work-session style meetings are typically held on the second Monday of the month but are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Regular board meetings will continue as scheduled.
