New Lenox Community Park District Meeting | July 2025

Article Summary: The New Lenox Community Park District has secured free replacements for dozens of defective golf cart windshields and a full credit for faulty bag stands after negotiating with its vendors. The district’s proactive discussions saved taxpayer money on equipment that showed premature wear and tear.

Golf Course Equipment Key Points:

  • Harris Golf Cars and Yamaha agreed to replace all 73 of the district’s golf cart windshields for free.

  • The windshields, though out of warranty, were showing a “blotching” defect.

  • The district will also receive a full credit from vendor Wittek for bag stands that began rusting after just one year.

  • The district’s golf course reported a busy and successful month of June.

The New Lenox Community Park District on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, announced it had successfully negotiated with two separate vendors to replace defective equipment at its golf course at no cost to taxpayers.

Commissioner Kraemer reported that the district met with Harris Golf Cars and a national sales representative from Yamaha regarding a “blotching” issue appearing on the windshields of the district’s 73 golf carts. Despite the windshields being out of warranty, the companies agreed to replace all of them for free, with the park district only responsible for installation.

In a separate issue, Kraemer stated the district met with Wittek, the supplier of its bag stands. After the stands began to show significant rust after only one year of use, the vendor agreed to issue a full credit to the district.

“Having Harris Golf Cars and Yamaha splitting the cost shows good faith with each vendor,” said Director of Golf Bob Schulz, expanding on the successful negotiations.

The golf course otherwise reported a busy June, with its Toptracer driving range proving very popular. Recent upgrades include a newly painted exterior and a new golf shop counter that patrons are “enjoying.”
