Executive Committee Meeting July 10 Meeting Briefs
Liquor License Expansion: The county approved increasing Class C1 liquor licenses from eight to nine to accommodate Lockport Gas and Food LLC at 14747 W. 159th Street in Homer Glen. The C1 license allows off-premises alcohol sales but prohibits consumption on site.
HUD Housing Funds: The committee approved accepting the county’s 2025-2029 HUD Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan, along with a $360,000 grant from the Illinois Housing Development Authority for home repair and accessibility programs.
Ordinance Updates: Two ordinances updating county code chapters on courts and fiscal affairs were approved, primarily to reflect current statutory references and streamline administrative procedures.
Cemetery Appointments Withdrawn: Planned appointments to the Lockport Cemetery Association were removed from consideration after the cemetery board changed its bylaws to reduce membership, eliminating available positions. The county expects vacancies to open by August.
Lease Agreements: The county authorized $1-per-year lease agreements with the City of Joliet for specialty courts space at 10 S. Chicago Street and fleet maintenance facilities at 9 S. Osgood Street, with provisions for potential vehicle servicing cooperation.
