Property Purchase Approved: The county authorized purchase of two parcels along Governor’s Highway in Monee for $545,000 to establish a roadway maintenance facility for the eastern end of the county. The properties will be purchased from Abel & Norma Rodriguez ($310,000) and the Estate of James Hampilos ($235,000).

Detention Center Upgrades: The committee approved $316,000 in improvements to River Valley Detention Center, including a body scanner system and structural modifications to create contact visitation areas required by state juvenile justice standards.

Business Zone Expansion: Updates to the Des Plaines River Valley Enterprise Zone ordinance and intergovernmental agreement were approved to include additional territory for economic development purposes.

Staff Training Requirements: The county designated staff members to serve as Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act officers, including Chief of Staff Charles B. Pelkie Jr. and Board Liaison Timothy Hendricks.

Next Meeting: The Executive Committee’s next scheduled meeting is July 10, 2025.
