Bed donation program: Will County donated old beds from Sunny Hill Nursing Home to Joliet Junior College and Project Cure after the nursing home received all new beds for residents. A portion of the donated beds through Project Cure will be distributed nationally and internationally.

Courthouse plaza footprint: The footprint of the original courthouse at the Old Courthouse Plaza site has been preserved through GPS plotting and will be marked with a colored epoxy line rather than physical blocks, which would have created an uneven surface in the poured concrete.

Archive building solution: The county successfully eliminated a bird nesting problem at the archives building by installing protective netting modeled after similar installations at area hospitals. The solution provides safe, clean access to the facility.

Emergency equipment orders: Flashlight orders for department safety monitors experienced delays, but equipment distribution will be completed once supplies arrive. Each department will have two safety monitors equipped with emergency response materials.

Farmers Market support: The facilities team assisted with setting up fencing at parking lot D to accommodate the weekend Farmers Market operations.

Signage replacement: Faded and deteriorated signage at River Valley Justice Center parking areas is being replaced as part of the lot restoration project.

Committee schedule: The next Capital Improvements & IT Committee meeting is scheduled for July 1 at 10 a.m. in the County Board Committee Room.
